Varieties of Belief within Christianity
Although the core beliefs of the Christian Faith are largely agreed upon and have been fairly stable throughout history since the time of the Apostles, there a number of significant beliefs and practices where there is, and has been, disagreement. Sometimes vehemently so.
So, if we are convinced that Jesus is who He is said to be and that the core beliefs are true, whether by historical evidence, reason or subjective experience, there remains the question of which variety to follow. Eastern Orthodox, Roman Catholic, Mainline Protestant, Evangelical etc.
And how important is it that we follow any particular tradition?
Things like musical style and liturgy are likely to be flexible and depend on cultural preference and any form can be a means of expressing our worship.
But other beliefs and practices are more challenging. Ones which challenge me include:
